Nearly five years after its initial announcement, Path of Exile 2 is set to make its debut with an Early Access release date. What began as a planned expansion for the original Path of Exile has evolved into a standalone game, developed by Grinding Gear Games as a distinct title. Despite this shift, the sequel promises to retain the core gameplay fans love, while introducing new classes, storylines, and enhanced systems for character customization, equipment, and endgame content.

Since its 2013 launch, the original Path of Exile has expanded significantly through numerous updates, each adding new build options and content. In contrast, Path of Exile 2 aims to overhaul some of the original systems, offering substantial improvements to gameplay and setting a solid foundation for future expansions and content after its release.
